1 chicken, cut up in 8 pcs.
1 tbl. 5 spice
4 c. water
3/4 c. dark soy
1/2 c. ginger wine
1/3 c. sesame oil
2 tbl. sugar
- Put water, soy, wine, and sesame oil in pot. Bring to the hard boil.
- Add chicken, lower gas to medium for 45 minutes. Turn chicken over several times.
- After 45 minutes shut off the gas, let chicken stand in sauce 15 minutes.
- Any sauce left over:
- Jar
- If using 2nd time
- Add recipe ingredients to left over sauce
NOTE:
5 spice is used instead of fennel, anise, etc. This sauce is used by restaurants for soy chicken.
