1 lb. stew beef

beef/pork marinade + 3 tbl. corn starch
1 scallion, cut 1' pcs.
2 tbl. sugar
4 tbl. dark soy + 1 tbl. thick soy
3 c. broth or water
1 lb. Chinese broccoli or U.S.
or yau choi, cut 4" pcs.

GARNET BAG:

1 tsp. fagara, whole
1 star anise
1 2" pc. cinnamon
2 25¢ pcs. Ginger
  1. Marinate and deep fry beef till brown. Set aside.
  2. Pour 3 c. broth in wok. Add beef, garnet bag, soy, scallions, and sugar. Bring to the boil then simmer 2 hours.
  3. Heat water and parboil vegetables, covered. take out garnet.
  4. Thicken meat and sauce, leave cover off last 20 minutes. Pour over vegetables. Serve.
