5 lg. cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
2 T flour
1/2 to 1 c sugar (depending on the apples)
1 t cinnamon
pinch salt
1 T lemon juice
2 T butter (dairy) or margarine (parev)

In large mixing bowl, mix together apple slices, flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon and lemon juice. Spread mixture into pie shell. Dot top of filling with margarine or butter. Fit and seal upper crust. Make several notches on top. Flute edges. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes until crust is brown and apple filling is bubbling.
